Over the Weekend

Whether you’re here for the riding, the dancing, or just a yarn by the bar, there’s something for everyone at Laura Rodeo & Campdraft. From big-time bull rides to mini bulls for the kids, plus live tunes, a bar that goes late, and plenty of food and fun in between—it’s a full weekend of good times.

FAQ’s

  • Laura is located about 4 hours drive north-west of Cairns. The road is sealed most of the way but can be rough especially after the Wet. 4WD recommended, but plenty of 2WDs make it just fine. Check road conditions before you travel.

  • Yes please! This event runs off community help. If you’d like to lend a hand or become a sponsor, get in touch with our team via the Contact Us page.

  • Yep! cold drinks from the bar, hot meals and snacks from local food vendors, and often a community BBQ. You’re welcome to bring your own too.

  • The bar is fully licensed, so no BYO alcohol in the licensed area. Outside of that, we ask people to drink responsibly, especially with kids and livestock around.

  • Telstra usually works okay in town, but it can be limited or non-existent at the grounds, depending on how many people are around, It’s best to plan ahead and let people know your plans before you head in.
